PHILOSOPHY
At HUOMN, we embark on a profound exploration of the human experience, one that delves deep into the intricate programming of our nervous systems and the stories that shape our existence. We believe that within the very fabric of our physical being lies the power to transform our lives. It is here, in the uncharted territory of our bodies, that we confront the stories of trauma, slaying the proverbial dragon to emerge as the heroes of our own narratives.
Our mission is to empower you with the courage to accept and grow from your experiences, embracing the path to spiritual growth. We aim to liberate you from the weight of what you want to feel less of, and empower you to embrace what you want to feel more of. We achieve this through a somatic approach that incorporates yoga, ice baths, medicine breathwork, and non-verbal trauma release techniques.
What sets HUOMN apart is our belief that in just seven days, you can achieve more than seven years of traditional talk therapy. Our programs are led by individuals who have conquered their personal dragons and emerged stronger, ready to guide you on your own journey of self-discovery and healing.
Our essence is deeply rooted in the ancient Sumerian word "Nam-lu-ulu," 𒉆𒇽𒍇. A profound translation where "nam" gives rise to abstract nouns and "lu-ulu" signifies humanity, encapsulating the very essence of "humanity." In the oldest recorded languages, this concept unites us all, representing "man," "woman," "people," and beyond—encompassing 'somebody,' 'anybody,' and the symphony of existence.
Just as this word binds us all, we gather in a circle, a timeless symbol of unity and equality. Here, we stand as equals, unified by our shared human experience, in a space where healing and transformation can flourish.
Our retreat is a sanctuary for exploring the symphony of the nervous system, understanding how it orchestrates our responses to the world around us. By mastering the regulation of our nervous systems, we regain control over our external environment through our internal responses. This journey is enriched by a sense of community and connection, where our nervous systems synchronize, leading to collective healing and personal growth.
Drawing inspiration from indigenous philosophy, we celebrate the ancient art of community interaction. We foster a sense of belonging and interdependence within our retreat, reviving a lost legacy within modern society.
We also encourage a profound spiritual bond with all living beings, recognizing the interconnectedness of existence. By aligning our thoughts and nervous systems with the divine, we unlock elevated states of consciousness and leverage that awareness to manifest the existence we want to feel more of.
At the heart of our mission is the belief that we can shape our external world through our internal responses. Together, we craft a compassionate and harmonious world, where well-being thrives, connections flourish, and individuals find their path to personal freedom through spiritual wellness.
In today's world, human interactions have become increasingly mediated by screens and defined by occupational roles and societal judgments. Yet, we believe in rediscovering the potency of shared encounters, empathy, communal equilibrium, and heightened consciousness. We invite you to join us on a journey to rekindle these bonds, both with each other and the world around us, mending the disconnect that afflicts modern society. Together, we rediscover the profound ties that sustain us as human beings.
